ACROSS LITE PUZZLE: [ THEMELESS FRIDAY]
PROGRAM: [Across Lite]
For those keeping count, this is Mr. Madison’s fourth appearance on this here site. You could say I’m playing favorites. I prefer to think I’m grooming Caleb to eventually take my place when I retire from BEQ.com. That should probably be around the summer of 2040 and Caleb will then be a spritely 47 years young. Get psyched.
Until that time when young Cee Em assumes the role of Hardest Working Man in Crosswords, it appears he has taken up an interim hobby. Namely comedy. Caleb sent me the amusing stand up bit I’ve posted above in addition to this lovely themeless puzzle that is also posted above. Fun stuff. I expect to see more puzzles and more stand up, please.
I guess now’s as good a time as any to mention that Caleb’s improv troupe The Viola Question of Yale is playing Boston tonight at 7:00. Well, technically it’s in Cambridge, even though the club is called ImprovBoston. Seeing as the club’s across the street from the BEQ.com headquarters, I’ll be there. Maybe you will be too?
Finally: this.
lovely! lots of great, fresh stuff and no hair-pull-inducing crossings. thanks, CM and BEQ!
Great puzzle — yes, “very fresh” — which makes it tougher sometimes for me. Can someone tell me what 38-Across refers to?
Enjoyed very much! Always find myself on the same wavelength as Caleb as we’re the same age. NW was the last to fall.
@Lon — the “walk of shame” is the journey back to one’s own place following a night spent with somebody else. 🙂
