Just a bit of advice to all who will be competing in the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament in Brooklyn this weekend, be sure to check your crossings. Accuracy is way more important than speed. Unless you're a Terminator like our reigning champion Dan Feyer and you show no known weaknesses. In case you forgot, in last year's tournament Dan managed to erase a nearly six minute gap he dug for himself due to some sloppy solving in puzzle 3 by demolishing the last four puzzles. Infuckingsane. So, I repeat, check those damn crossings. And good luck to all who will be in Brooklyn.
I'll be there this weekend, so feel free to introduce yourself. I don't bite, unless you ask me nicely. Regardless, I look forward to meeting many of you there.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday, as well as a recap of the weekend's events.
