THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
Well, here’s something you don’t see too often (in a puzzle made by me, that is): a dual-symmetry grid. Unlike normal crosswords where you have to turn the whole grid upside down to see the same pattern, this one requires just a 90 degree turn. Pretty cool, eh? I’m giving you absolutely zero bonus points for figuring out what the seed entry was. Because, hey, that’d be too darned easy. Still, I managed to write a great clue for that one, as well as the ones at 31-A, 7- and 15-D. Whaddya know, those were the first four entries in the grid (though not in that order). Coincidence? Well, yes, but feel free to pretend that I planned it all that way.
Thanks to all who chipped in to the drive last month (plus). I was overwhelmed with all the positive response as well as all the nice things you said about my work. You guys make me love my job. Thank you. If for any reason you feel like you didn’t get the bonus puzzles, let me know and I’ll resend them. As promised, our one randomly selected donor who receives all my books as well as some gift subscriptions to some outstanding indie puzzles is Benjamin Roye of Pleasantville, NY.
When yr. done with today’s offering, why don’tcha go here and do a metapuzzle by BEQ.com fan Ralph Bunker (and others). There’s some big ticket prizes in there including entry fee to the ACPT (registration has begun, by the way). So, get on it.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
I needed a fair amount of help with this one — but in the end, it was doable — love the “no incorrect letter” feature — I am registered for the tournament and now officially in training! Anyone who plans to achieve any level of success needs your puzzles in their arsenal!
Really enjoyed this one!
Brendan, you get big ups from us (how many of “us” are there?) ‘cos you’ve earned them for your puzzles (free!), humor and commentary. To use a cross/word that I never use in real life, you’re a oner. Thanks!
