Two easy puzzles in one week? What are you doing to us Biz Quig? I ... don't know! Consider it atonement for all the dastardly puzzles I've done over the years. But if you must make it hard for yourself, perhaps you might consider solving it Down clues only? Regardless, enjoy.
Let's have a standing ovation and one big curtain call to my man Ben Tausig for his near-decade run of his weekly Ink Well puzzle. Ben was legend among the indies, and here's a short list of all the things that are hallmarks of a Tausig puzzle: fresh in-the-language fill, many "wished-I'd-though-of-that" themes, humor, erudition, and grace. I've had the pleasure of working with him not only with the Onion crosswords, but also with the AVCX. And I can tell you first-hand that those trademarks are present in the puzzles he commissions and edits. So while we'll get one less Tausig puzzle to solve a week, rest assured that that pioneering puzzle spirit will live on in the AVCX. Ben, take another bow. You can read his formal adieu here.
The summer drive is still going strong. Jonesing for more BEQ puzzles? A $10 tip gets you two Sunday-sized puzzles as well as the satisfaction that you are supporting your indie puzzle maker. The site is always free, and one should never feel the need to pay, but if you like what you see here, a little scratch goes a long way. Thanks to everyone who was able to give so far.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
