- There are no more than 8 owners in any given league. Drafting order is decided upon by casting lots.
- Owners draft teams in a snaking order, that is to say, the first round goes owner 1, owner 2, and so on down to owner 8. The second round begins with owner 8, then owner 7, and so on back to owner 1.
- Teams shall be made up using the following rules: No roster may have more than 5 A contestants and a minimum of at least one B, C, D and E contestant. A roster must be made up of players from different geographical regions (as assigned by the twisted geographical demarcations used by the ACPT) with no more than one region representing two contestants. Rosters shall be made up of 13 starters and 3 inactive backups.
- The deadline for finaling your lineup as well as the trading deadline for the tournament is no latter than the start of the fourth puzzle.
- Scoring shall be done as follows: Once the tournament is done, the final ranking of each contestant is their final score. The sum total of all active 13 starters shall be the basis for that roster's score. If any contestant on the owner's roster wins the A division, 15 bonus points is deducted from their roster score, 10 points for having the B division winner and 5 for the C. The lowest roster score in the league wins.
- An owner gets to retain the rights to no more than 2 contestants for the 2010 ACPT.

(This post is dedicated to Dan Okrent, crossword enthusiast, former New York Times ombudsman, and inventor of rotisserie baseball. Dan, if you read this blog, me and my old roommates loved you in Ken Burns's "Baseball." And while we're here: I'm completely dumbstruck that you didn't mention the fantasy baseball thing in Patrick Creadon's film "Wordplay." Priorities, dude.
Also, thanks to Joon Pahk, Mike Nothnagel and Gil Falcon for helping me iron out the rules).
POSTSCRIPT: For all ACPT-goers: come on over and say hey/buy me and my wife a drink/punch me in the face/etc., preferably before the Tournament starts. But, I guess if you catch me when it's all done, you can tell me what you really thought of my puzzle. Either way, it'll be nice to put some faces to names.
POSTPOSTSCRIPT: I will be live blogging my thoughts on the whole Tournament through my Twitter feed. So please, don't be shy, and sign on up.
