ACROSS LITE PUZZLE: [ HOLD EVERYTHING]

PRINTOUT PUZZLE: [ HOLD EVERYTHING]
PROGRAM: [Adobe Acrobat]
Heads up: today's puzzle's an oldie but goodie from the "Time Out" days. Still, should be brand new to most of you. The comic who provided the quip slays me. Slays Liz too. Enjoy.
Speaking of comedy, I was privileged to receive a copy of Deb Amlen's first book "It's Not PMS, It's You!" Deb's in the puzzling community as a part of "The Onion" rotation. Anyway, she and her husband Dave are on the "must-visit" list every time Liz and I are down in the Noo Yawk area. Their warmth and generosity roped us in, and Deb's acerbic sense of humor kept us coming back for more. So it's good to see her putting her talents to good use with her book. It's part send-up part actual how-to guide to modern-day dating wherein Deb juggles some rather disparate writing styles to capture the insanity of it all. I found the self-reflective bits about her own family quite well done. Maybe because we know the parties involved. Probably because it was the most based on truth. And truth equals comedy. So, if I'm writing about it, chances are I'm recommending it. Get one for a single girl you love, and while you're at it, become a regular at Deb's site, too.
Thanks again to all who were able to tip last week. Our winner this month is Anne Dumais of Teaneck, NJ.
It's still not too late to enter last Friday's contest! And let me tell you, we've had some stellar entries so far. Hoo boy, this recap is going to be fun.
Share the puzzle. New one on Wednesday.
