Indie puzzlemakers have to stick together, so forgive me as I mention a special project by crossword man about town Peter Gordon. He's planning on making twenty weekly current events crosswords, many answers taken from the news. Peter did a similar puzzle for The Week, but that feature closed down. So he needs your help in keeping this project going, now in a strictly independent forum. We all know his Fireball puzzles are in the Must Solve category, why would these be any different? Click here and make it happen.

As for today's puzzle, raise your beer along with me to Francis Heaney for his help with the theme. Have I mentioned that that guy's good at what he does? Well, he is, and consider it now mentioned.
