TWO-FOR-ONE SPECIAL: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]

I was in the mood to start things off last week, and so I made a puzzle to reflect that. Solver's of last Wednesday's puzzle were asked solvers to send me a six word phrase that was suggested by the meta. At first blush there were only three obvious theme entries: NO SHIT SHERLOCK, DOWN TO THE WIRE, and GATED COMMUNITY, all phrases ending with the name of a TV show. A closer examination of the grid revealed that three words for "street" were hidden directly underneath them: LANE, ROAD and WAY. This lead to the final meta answer "Get the show on the road." Looks like it might have been a bit harder than I'd expected it to be as I got only 68 entrants, and 13 of those answers were wrong. Creatively wrong, but wrong nonetheless. No matter. Let's take a look at the solution grid:

Our randomly selected winner is Steve Blais of Windsor, Ontario. He'll receive a copy of my latest book "Marching Bands," which is on the shelves now. So if your name isn't "Steve Blais," click on that above link and get yo' self a copy today.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
