I was kicking a ball around with Tabitha the other day and I may be biased, but through this dad's eyes, she looks like she's got some soccer potential. She's got pretty good aim, and puts a little mustard on her kicks. Another lady in the park noticed Tabby's ability too. I was hoping she was a talent scout who was going to give Tabby a full boat soccer scholarship to some Ivy League school, but alas it wasn't to be. All the lady said was, "maybe when she grows up they'll let a woman play in the World Cup." Good times. Looks like we've got still got a ways to go before soccer makes an impact in the States.
As for today's puzzle, we've got a 68-worder that I had to double check was in fact that low. Whenever I stack 11s I feel like I'm locked into a 70/72 word grid, but I guess the entire middle bit is where all the openness is. Rather like the clues at 2-Down and 14-Down, if I may say so myself. Hope you enjoy it too.
Last week for the Summer Drive! A $10 tip or more gets you the satisfaction that you are supporting the hardest working man in puzzledom whose initials are BEQ. It also gets you two Sunday puzzles by the aforementioned hardest working man in puzzledom. Oh yeah, I keep forgetting, one randomly selected person gets a copy of "Marching Bands," as well. So what are you waiting for?
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
