In last week's meta, I asked the solver to look inward. Indeed, for the three theme answers contained extra words: EAT was added to SAC FLIES, PRAY added to SING PRAISES, and LOVE added to PR BLITZ. And so the contemporary author I was looking for with said puzzle was Elizabeth Gilbert whose most popular book is "Eat, Pray, Love." The meta was probably considerably easier than the crossword itself as we got 251 entrants this time, all but two getting it right. Let's see the answers:
Two entries that I thought were worth mentioning. Alex Boisvert of Los Angeles wrote an that solves crossword puzzles. He gave it a whirl and sent how it did along with his answer:

And Dan Sadoff, a veterinarian who lives in St. Paul, wrote: "never read the book; maybe would have if it was Eat Bray Solve."
Our randomly selected winner is Brian Kulman of Reston, VA. He gets his choice of any of my books of his choosing, or some piece of junk from my house that I don't want any more. Congrats to Brian, and thanks to everyone who entered the contest.
