It's amazing to think how much software has pushed the boundaries of crossword construction. When I started out, armed with just a pad of paper, pencils, the odd dictionary, Scrabble wordlists, and iron will, daily puzzles typically had three or maybe four themed answers and that was that. Nowadays, if we're not regularly cramming five plus in a grid it feels like a bit of a missed opportunity. Regardless, with today's theme, I simply could not summon up more than three answers for the theme. Ergo, a true throwback puzzle, albeit with some very current fill standards. Enjoy.
