THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
A miracle happened this morning. Yes, after four days being stuck in the house, Tabitha went back to school. And there was much rejoicing! Don't get me wrong, I love my daughter, but two snow days on Thursday and Friday coupled with below zero temperatures on the weekend made for, well, self-imposed exile from the real world. Good times. And look I love Monopoly and Sorry!, but there's really only so many hours one can spend playing those games. Good times. Anyway, we're all back to the salt mines, and back to our regular schedules and I for one couldn't be happier.
One bright spot over the weekend was that I managed to nab a copy of Joon Pahk's latest book "Triple Decker Trivia." Probably the only thing I like more than promoting a puzzle book by one of my friends is promoting a great puzzle book by one of my friends. The book's gimmick is simple: each game has four sets of four trivia questions. Each set has some linking element among them for you to deduce, and the answer to those four categories also have some linking element to serve as the final answer. It's not unlike the MIT Mystery Hunt, only you know, not with completely insane puzzles. Anyway, it was an enjoyable break now and then from our prison without bars four-day weekend. I'm sure that the geniuses among you who are trivia warehouses will find this a nice workout, but for the mere mortals like me, it's much more fun as a group effort. Pick up a copy today, will ya?
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
