THEMELESS MONDAY: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
Couple links for you today, so let’s just right to ’em.
First up, Nate Cardin has commissioned a whole suite of puzzles for a worthy cause. Queer Qrosswords are yours if you can make a modest donation to any of a number of pro-LGBT organizations (links are on the page). So whaddya get: 22 puzzles by some established heavy hitters like Trip Payne, Andrew Ries, Finn Vigland, Andy Kravis and a whole slew of others. For God’s sake, Nate even got David Quarfoot to come out of hiding to contribute. Did you hear me? Quarfoot sighting! Sound the klaxon! Nate deserves a medal for that. Anyway, do what you can, if you can.
Next up, reminder that the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament is this weekend. Hoping to see a lot of you there. If you can’t make it, and you’ve already got the credit card out for helping Nate out, might as well sign up for the play-at-home. Oh, and I’d just like to let the record show that yours truly predicted with 100% accuracy every one of the constructors for this year (there are bios on the site). Don’t believe me? Ask Sam Ezersky when you see him in Stamford.
Lastly, this isn’t really puzzly per se, but it is something to do with a member of the puzzle community. Matt Ginsberg, head judge for the ACPT and genius behind the crossword-solving artificial intelligence Dr. Fill, wrote a techno thriller novel. “Factor Man.” And here I was, thinking I was too busy. Matt puts me to shame. Anyway, loads of tech, plenty of espionage, and uh, how to disappear completely (well, you know, it wouldn’t be fun if there wasn’t some element of fiction). It comes out tomorrow, so grab a copy for the flight to Stamford.
Share the puzzle. New one on Thursday.
