If there was an ACPT, then there's a good chance that there's chatter about the crossword solving AI Dr. Fill. Love him or hate him, it resurfaces every damn year. Put me in the "love him" camp, as I think Matt Ginsberg's work is mighty impressive. Anyway, a fascinating article by my bud Oliver Roeder goes into all the hairy details of how Dr. Fill finally came out on top. Hey, Will! If you're reading this, sign me up for a tournament puzzle next year. I'll crush the machine.
