BOX SEATS: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
Small programming note: due to unforeseen circumstances, today's offering is a rerun from a long time ago. It might even be a brand new puzzle for some of you. While we're here, I had a Marching Bands puzzle in the Times this past weekend. That might have slipped through the cracks, so let's post it here, shall we? [JPZ][PDF]. This is as good a time as any to mention that Year Eight of the bi-weekly Marching Bands starts shortly. Enrollment is now if you're looking for more of those, or somehow don't have enough puzzles to begin with. $15 via PayPal or Venmo (@TheBEQ) please and thank you.
The above pic was one contestant (who shall not be named) who turned their Puzzle 5 from this past American Crossword Puzzle Tournament into some performance art. I'm sorry to have broken you, but you made us laugh. Those yellow squares mean everything's wrong, folks. But you knew that already. I'd mentioned in passing that I might be speaking a little bit about how that puzzle was made, but I decided against it. Like Stephen Malkmus sang so eloquently, "we need secrets." Besides, whatever twisted fantasy you have concocted about how it came into being is probably way more interesting than the reality. So why burst the bubble?
Looking for more puzzles? The Hub Crossword (Sunday puzzles by me and Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon, and soon Joon!) and Marching Bands year seven have begun. So if that To Do list needs even more puzzles, you know what to do.
Share the puzzle. New one on Monday.
