TWO DAYS: [ ACROSS LITE][ PDF]
PROGRAMS: [Across Lite] [Adobe Reader]
It's not much of a spoiler, but one of my testers said that the top row of this puzzle resembled a cryptogram. I'll take that as a compliment! I sort of like putting weird-looking words in grids. Anyway, this reminded me of a conversation I overheard at one of the American Crossword Puzzle Tournaments from way back when. Constructing titan Henry Hook announced that he could come up with a clue for any three-letter entry. That is to say, any three random letters. So, somebody took the bait and said some nonsense like "QRJ," and Henry immediately said "Cat, in some cryptograms." He still is missed.
